Key Features
Reinforcement Design
SLABS software evaluates top and bottom steel in the slab (in both orthogonal directions) and in all beams (bending and shear). The steel design considers strength and crack control criteria.
Deflections
SLABS software is especially suitable for evaluating deflections. The long term deflections are evaluated by three alternative methods: simplified Kcs approach, Age Adjusted Modulus, and Eurocode2 approach. All three methods implement different cracked section properties in two orthogonal directions - in arbitrary orientation.
Reactions
Wall and column reactions are evaluated by two alternative methods: Static Analysis and Tributary Area method. The Area method is especially suitable for suspended slabs supported by masonry walls were there is no dominant frame action.
Auto meshing
SLABS software implements a very sophisticated and robust auto-meshing algorithm which copes especially well with complex concrete floor geometry.
Two-way action
SLABS software automatically considers two-way action. This approach is much more superior than the simplified strip method were ‘imaginary’ beam strips are taken out of the floor and are considered independently, ignoring the rest of the structure. The two-way action can have an arbitrary orientation as defined by the user.
The local Australian design tradition is fully integrated within the software. The underlying concept of the software reflects the commonly used design approach in Australia.
Band Beam Design
Band beams can be defined in any direction within a model and are fully integrated in the 3D floor system. A comprehensive design report is available for each band beam.
Punching Shear Check / Design
The punching shear check and design is performed by two alternative methods for all column elements including complex sections.
Joints / corbels
Corbel joints can be easily defined at any location within the model.
Frequency analysis
SLABS software can be used to evaluate the dominant natural period of the floor in order to estimate the risk of excessive vibrations.
Slabs on Ground
SLABS software is especially suitable for analysis and design of slabs on ground. The software implements two alternative methods: Winkler Method and Elastic Half-space. A complete Soil-structure interaction approach is implemented.
Intelligent CAD Import
The Intelligent CAD import will recognize the common structural elements, such as different wall configurations and columns of any shape. CAD drawings that contain information in appropriate layers can be used to import the geometry of a complete floor in minutes. The CAD import in SLABS does not require any modification or special preparation to be made to the CAD drawings.
REVIT Structure 2010 Import
SLABS software imports the entire floor form a REVIT model.
Check Structure
A comprehensive structural check can be performed in order to identify and eliminate most common modeling errors.

SLABS is one of our leading software packages that is used by thousands of structural engineers. It allows users to model and design reinforced concrete slab systems of any shape, including suspended slabs and slabs-on-ground.
SLABS 2009 is the latest version, which includes an improved user interface and a new modelling concept.

"I am very Satisfied with SLABS, and we have achieve better results than expected."
